I've tried to sound more confident in my picks, like most professional sportswriters, but instead of saying "This team will win," I've confidently said, "This is a tough pick." Which isn't exactly what I was going for. But the truth is, I change my mind on who's going to win a number of times for a lot of games each week. If you observed the conversations I had with my wife every week, you'd basically see me waffle like a Belgian. ( Here are my oh-so-confident predictions for Week 13. )
How Wrong Was David?Seriously Craving Turkey EditionWell, a lot of my predicted winners won, even if my scores were way, way off… ( This is how wrong David was. )
More to come, but for now:
Miami Dolphins (4-5) at Carolina Panthers (4-5)
This time, Carolina will do the intercepting. Miami may stuff the ground game a little, but they can't prevent the pass.
Carolina 23, Miami 17
This has been an incredibly crazy weekend. These scores were all predicted prior to the games, but I did not have the opportunity to write and post the commentary until now. ( Here are my predictions for Week 10. )
More to come, but for now:
Chicago Bears (4-4) at San Francisco 49ers (3-5)
There was a lot to dislike about the Bears' defense this past week, and with a short few days to recover, I expect them to struggle against the pass. Not that Alex Smith is looking like the first overall pick that he was, but I think he does manage to get the first win of his last seven starts.
San Francisco 20, Chicago 13
Unfortunately, my list of Peter King's picks is not currently available to me, so I will not be able to post Week 6's "How Wrong Was David" until a slightly later date.
